Lobstar Wilde AI crypto agent sends 52.4M LOBSTAR tokens to a random user

Preliminary Why: Only a republished copy: Yahoo Finance · subject to change

Status: no action reported

Severity moderate
Reported 25 Feb 2026

No source states: loss or records, developer and model, agent tool, could do, deployer, industry.

Severity moderate: test: tokens of others (the recipient) were touched, with a bounded scope stated as 5% of the total token supply

An autonomous AI agent, Lobstar Wilde, was running a Solana wallet when it was asked, as a joke, for 4 SOL. A session reset had wiped its memory of prior allocations. On February 22, 2026 it sent 52.4M LOBSTAR tokens, about 5% of the total supply, to a random user instead of a small donation. The source attributes the error to a parsing mistake, where the agent likely confused token decimals with raw integer values, and calls it a guardrail failure. The recipient sold into thin liquidity, walked away with roughly $37K to $40K, then reportedly put around $25K into a new token that collapsed. The source reports the original holding ended at roughly $6K. The sources state no remediation.

Controls

Not yet read for controls. Controls that mitigate the primary risk:

Harness

Tool allow-list · Fail-closed defaults · Stop control

Application

Human approval for high-impact actions · Change review and separation of duties · Least-privilege access for the agent · Production kept apart from test · Activity logs · Adversarial testing before deployment

Evidence

No source states: a step-by-step account, when it happened, when it was found, how many records were exposed, the direct loss, a count of the other parties affected, any court case, the cause, what set it off, what was done.

What happened, in order

Not dated in the sources:

  • The agent suffered a session reset that wiped its memory of prior allocations.
  • The new token's liquidity faded and its price collapsed.
