A former Austin ISD elementary school teacher, Carl David Innmon, pleaded guilty in federal court to possessing child sexual abuse material. The sources describe an AI image generator, which they do not name, being used with real photographs of students from a classroom to alter those images. Court documents state that over 365,000 images were found on his devices. A law enforcement undercover operation that began in May 2023 traced a computer sharing such material to an IP address registered to him in late February. Investigators then surveilled his home, executed a search warrant and seized devices. Two children were identified as students at the school where he worked. He faces up to 20 years in prison.
