A man sentenced to 25 years in prison for child sexual abuse material offenses was accused of using artificial intelligence from his prison cell to create thousands of sexually explicit images of a child from his original case, and of sending an AI-generated nude image to young girls on Snapchat. The Martin County Sheriff’s Office said investigators received a tip that he was having inappropriate communication with a child. Investigators traced a device downloading child sexual abuse material to his cell, and prison staff recovered it. The sheriff estimated the Snapchat image reached hundreds to thousands of children, and said none appeared to engage. Kendall was first arrested in November 2023 and sentenced in Broward County in September 2024, and is expected to face further charges.

Notes on gaps

Federal charges are expected but not confirmed as filed. The 25-year sentence in the title relates to the earlier Broward County case, not the AI images.
