Preliminary Why: 1 report: Tech Times (UK) · subject to change · 1 independent report
Developing: a major or severe case captured in the last 72 hours. Later changes are logged on the corrections page.
Status: no action reported
No source states: loss or records, developer and model, agent tool, could do, deployer, industry.
Severity major: Test: many third parties (a stated count of two or more affected parties). Fact: 138 women MPs across 22 EU nations appeared or were mentioned on explicit deepfake websites.
Agora Digitale Transformation (ADT) examined politicians in national parliaments across the EU, searching 160 domains known to host deepfake pornography and other non-consensual sexual material between 16 and 20 July, with matches on 36 of them. The study found 138 women MPs across 22 EU nations had appeared or been mentioned on explicit deepfake websites, compared with nine male MPs. Many women appeared on gateway pages that linked to AI tools generating nude or sexualised images. The Manhattan District Attorney's Office later seized 12 deepfake domains, eight of which ADT had examined. ADT also found records from one seized domain still stored in Google's search index, which could still link names to the material.

Notes on gaps
The seizure and the EU ban are not organisational remediations, so remediations are empty. The 138 figure counts women who appeared or were mentioned; the source says only 38 had live depictions, so the figure is not a count of confirmed hosted material.
