A Grand Forks, North Dakota man was charged after investigators said he used artificial intelligence to generate sexually explicit images and videos of two juvenile girls. Investigators say he used explicit text prompts to produce material depicting the real likenesses of the two minors. The case began when X.AI LLC reported a suspected child sexual abuse image to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, which forwarded the tip to state investigators. Investigators traced the account to his home using subpoenaed IP address records, then executed a search warrant at his home on May 7, 2026. He faces three Class A felony counts and is in custody. A preliminary hearing and arraignment is scheduled for June 15, 2026.
