A Nova Scotia man who once lived in Nunavut faces charges from Ottawa police over alleged online exploitation and harassment of victims. Police say the complainants were depicted in what appeared to be deep fake or AI pornography posted on websites. The police investigation began in September after a report from an alleged victim, and the RCMP arrested the accused at his home on Feb 12. Another 75 charges were laid in May. Twenty-five victims have been identified. The offences are alleged to have occurred between August 2020 and December 2025. The allegations have not been proven in court.
