Pupils in Scottish schools used AI image tools to make sexual and violent images of their teachers. In some clips, teachers' likenesses were added to footage from pornographic films. The images were shared on social media and around schools, and fake social media accounts using teachers' names were set up. The details first emerged in the Renfrewshire area, and the union says the problem has been reported nationally. Some staff have been signed off work sick. Renfrewshire Council said it has robust policies in place and will keep working with teaching unions. Ofcom said that creating or sharing non-consensual sexual deepfakes made with AI can be illegal. The sources do not state the AI system used, how many pupils or teachers were affected, when the images were made, or how they were caught.
