A registered sex offender in Utah was arrested for allegedly using artificial intelligence and photographs of a real woman to create pornographic videos and images, including child sexual abuse material. Police said the images were made from pictures the woman had posted on social media, some taken when she was a teenager. The investigation began in November after the woman found AI-generated videos and images of herself on a pornographic website. Detectives reviewed 94 images, and the affidavit states that all of them display the victim's face. The suspect, who was already incarcerated for a parole violation, denied wrongdoing and told deputies his phone and accounts had been hacked. Deputies held him in the Grand County Jail for investigation of additional charges, which include 11 counts of aggravated sexual exploitation of a minor and 10 counts of aggravated distribution of a counterfeit intimate image. These are allegations as reported.
